Phil Richard Insurance , in conjunction with Arbella Mutual Insurance, donated $1,500 to the Danvers Food Pantry on Monday, February 9th. "We've had so many people come to rely on the Pantry this winter," said Ellie Hersey, co-chairman and co-founder of the food pantry with Barbara Remon. "I'm out purchasing food weekly, and this donation will make a big difference to so many people."
The pantry services seniors on a fixed income, people out of work, single head-of-households with young children or adults, and others who can no longer make ends meet. The entire operation is a volunteer service, and all donations are used for the pantry, whether food or much-needed cash.
"I see the impact of the current economy every day" said Phil Richard, owner of the Phil Richard Insurance . "Unemployment, higher prices for food, gas, and heat: these have put a huge stress on many local families. Barb Remon has told me, at our Kiwanis meetings, that she has seen an increase in the number of people who never needed outside help before, and are now dependent on the Danvers People to People Food Pantry for many of their staples. I knew we could offer some assistance, and Arbella was happy to help as well."
Now employing 10 employees, Phil Richard Insurance specializes in Commercial, Auto, Home, & Life Insurance, and has been serving the North Shore community for the past 20 years.
